Omnia for Agronomists: Advanced Spray Features

Split Plans

Let’s start with split plans.

This is a really useful tool if you want to plan spray programs, or if you want to take a large plan and make micro-adjustments to individual fields.

Watch the video below to get a feel for this functionality.

Custom Products

Next up, let’s talk about the use of custom products.

As we discussed in the previous module, the HALO database derives its information from the FERA database, so all approved products will appear within the search function as you create a plan.

However, we recognise that in certain situations, you may want to add a custom product to Omnia.

The video below details this process, along with some guidance on things to be aware of.

Spray Plan Templates

Our next stop is Spray Plan Templates. Templates are a great piece of functionality, allowing you to:

  • Plan/prepare for a range of scenarios in an upcoming season.

  • Save time, avoiding repetitive creation of a commonly used plan.

  • Take a 'base' plan, and then fine tune/adjust based on what you see in field.

The next video will lead you through the use of templates.  We hope you find it useful.

Reporting on Spray Plans

Finally, let’s talk about what to do with a plan, once it is created.

Ultimately, this will depend upon the context of the Holding.

If Omnia’s Task Management functionality is being used, then there is no need to generate a spray plan report/ticket. Instead, once published, the plan will automatically pull through to the Field Diary module, ready for completion.  This can therefore be completely paperless.

With that said, if you still want to produce a digital/paper report – we have you covered.  Check out the next video to learn how.

  3. The use of spray plan templates, along with some use cases.
  4. Where a spray plan pulls through to once created, in a paperless farm management system.
  5. How to create a PDF spray plan report, if required.
