Welcome to this module, where we’ll learn about the Requirements tab within Omnia’s Nutrition Module.
As any FQA will know – we need to establish the crop requirement before we start producing plans.
The video below will get us started – we’ll learn about requirements, and then we can get into ruleset creation from there.
Let’s go!
In order to make calculations, Omnia will pull background information from a range of other modules.
So, it is important we pay attention to the sort of information that will need to be populated for this to work.
Don’t worry – if you are missing some background information, you’ll get a warning symbol showing in the requirements module, with an accompanying message detailing what is missing.
Below is a list of information that the Nutrition Module will access, and the where to populate it.
Information required | Where to add it |
---|---|
Soil Texture | Fields Module - Edit Field |
Subsoil Texture | Fields Module - Edit Field |
Target Yield | Fields Module - Edit Cropping |
Residue Strategy | Fields Module - Edit Cropping |
Previous Cropping | Fields Module |
Soil Analysis | Soil Module |
Omnia has a default set of rulesets which it uses for the calculation of crop requirements – all done completely automatically.
That said, you may wish to have specific rulesets – where different crops, crop purposes, or varieties – are treated differently for the purposes of these requirement calculations.
Omnia allows you to do exactly this – the next video will cover the creation of custom rulesets. Enjoy!
We’ve made it to the end of this section – nice!
You should now have an understanding of:
In the next section, we’ll move into the creation of plans, now that we are confident in our requirements.
