Omnia for Agronomists: Nutrition Plans

Introduction to Nutrition Plans

Welcome to this section – time to get to grips with the creation of nutrition plans in Omnia.

Once we are confident in our requirements – we can now progress into putting some plans together to target those needs.

The next video you’ll see will cover the basics of plan creation.  After that, we can start to move into the world of variable rate applications.

Precision PK Plans

So, now that we are happy to produce some basic plans, let’s take a look at how we can go a step further.

The video below covers the creation of PK precision plans.

Variable Rate Nitrogen

Our final stop for plan creation is variable rate N.

There are two distinct phases when it comes to the creation of VR N plans:

  • We need to ensure there are some map layers present which provide biomass information.
  • We can then go ahead and produce the VR N plan, utilising our created layer.

First, let’s hear from Aidan Monaghan, Digital Farming Manager, about the role of satellite imagery.

After that, we can take a look at creating a map layer for biomass.  NDVI is a good example of this – which we’ll consider in the second video.

Now that we’ve gone ahead and created a biomass layer, we can put it to good use.

Let’s create a variable rate Nitrogen plan in the next video.

Summary - Nutrition Plans

Well done – that’s another section completed!

By this point, you should have an appreciation of:

  • How to create a basic nutrition plan
  • How to produce precision PK plans
  • The role of NDVI as a biomass map layer
  • Using biomass layers in the creation of a VR N plan

Thanks for taking the time to dive into nutrition planning in Omnia.  We hope you found it useful.
